Our public house GIVING CIRCLE

Our Public House will be a 'state of the nation' play set in a pub on the outskirts of town, exploring England today, and reflecting who we are and how we talk about ourselves.

It is rooted in voices not typically in charge of political decision-making processes. This follows an extraordinary programme of political speech-writing workshops that we've been running with communities across England over the past year, working with a wide range of people aged from 12 to 65, from women in prisons, the deaf community, women’s and men's social groups, young activists, schools, community centres, Muslim carers, and adults with lived experience of homelessness and of a mental health diagnosis.

The production will be packed with comedy, music, romance and the brilliant empowering speeches written and performed by the participants that we’ve had the privilege to work with. Some of the participants will also perform alongside a cast of professional actors/actor-musicians.

The project and production costs upwards of £350,000 and we are actively fundraising to reach our budget. We need your support more than ever to bring this important play back to to the nation and the following are examples of how your donation could make a real difference:

£1,000 would support the commission of the musical score OR pay for a pre-show hustings workshop with community participants, stakeholders and MPs before each show.

£500 will contribute towards the costumes for our professional and community cast members.

£200 to pay for the onstage training of one of our non-professional performers.

£60 and you will fund tickets for 5 community participants to see the show.

To say thank you: As an Our Public House Giving Circle supporter you will become an extended member of our creative team, experiencing the development of the production at close range through regular news and events including the first night party.
